Gus, asleep on our bed. It is nice that he now sleeps on top of things instead of beneath them, and that he is getting used to the sounds of us moving around in the house, so we can get close enough to snap a photo. He is still very skittish.
He is making progress. Today he let me approach him and he moved towards me for petting. He usually will run or hide when you approach him, still. He's getting better, slowly.
I rescued Grumble Gus from a storm drain with two of his siblings in the spring of 2007. His sister, Fatbutt, and his brother, Coal, both were adopted into loving homes, but Gus has never forgiven me for rescuing him, and has been hissing and grumbling his days away at the animal shelter ever since. My boyfriend and I are fostering Gus in the hopes that we can tame him with treats and love. Gus hates almost every minute of it.

this is going to be an awesome gift for anyone who decides to give Gus his Forever Home. Now they can see where he came from and how far he's come! :)
